Commission for
Kavelbro Scool in Skövde

I work with a group of sculptures for Kavelbro senior high school in Skövde. Here I show my suggestion "Taking off" for the client. The group will contain of ten hanging sculptures. The materials will be painted sheet metal with elements of polished stainless steel and goldie aluminum.

The school - and the artwork - will be inaugurated on the 19 of august.

Norrbotten equality prize

is a scholarship that will be awarded over five years
The prize consists among other things of a sculpture specially designed on the theme.
Norrbotten County Council's Culture and Education Division announced a competition for the design of the sculpture and the jury fell for my suggestion "Taking off together"

Motivation from the jury:
Kerstin Hedström's proposal "Taking off together" has a positive and
including message. The sculpture has a pleasurable design in which
the emphasis on both the inside and outside enhances the mission theme of
equality and diversity. The untraditional hanging position
creates mobility and the re-used material brings variety to the
the five prizes to be awarded. "Taking off together" is a strong
artistic representation of the theme and a fine example of Kerstin
Hedströms artistic practice, where her interest in resource use
and recycling is represented in an obvious way.

The scholorship will be awarded on September 9 at the House of Science in Luleå
